Bloomvale House has housed generations of crafts people down through the years and now you can join us and enjoy being creative too. Ballydougan Pottery Craft Workshops offers the budding crafts person or the interested novice an opportunity to develop and learn skills in a number of crafts. Organised workshops are held throughout the year and can be tailored to individual needs.
Trained staff will demonstrate their craft enabling you to create your own unique pieces to take home and treasure. So, if you are an aspiring potter or would just like the challenge of throwing a pot on the potter’s wheel, a class at Ballydougan awaits you. Classes on offer include:

Weekend courses are available for groups of adults with accommodation provided in our 4 star self-catering cottages within the Ballydougan Pottery courtyard. Group Visits and DemonstrationsAt Ballydougan we particularly welcome organized tours and demonstrations for your Company/Group (maximum of 50 people) to visit our historic house and pottery and avail of a fully guided tour of the pottery and workshops.
If your Group wishes to be more active during their visit why not take a class. Group hand-building classes, throwing classes or Paint-A-Pot classes are all available. Visit the contact page to request more information. Advanced booking is essential. And why not begin or follow your tour with morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea in our Linen Barn Coffee Shop. Birthday Parties, Celebrations or Family/ Friends Get-TogetherMake someone’s birthday or celebration very special this year and have a creative & fun Party at Ballydougan Pottery. .Birthday parties, Hen Nights, Girls-Night-Out, whatever you fancy …. A Ballydougan Party includes 2.5 hours of room hire with 1.5 hours Pottery tuition. Following the pottery demonstration the special Guest throws a pot on the potter’s wheel. All guests then paint-a-pot (Mug/plate) which will be fired and can be collected from Pottery approximately 3 weeks later. The final hour is left for you to entertain party guests (CD player available) or have some party food. Visit the contact page to request more information.

One of our potters will explain about our charming house and courtyard and show you the process of pottery making from the wet clay to the finished glazed pots. The tour lasts approximately one hour and costs £ 45.00 per group.
